Services
Signing Up for an APO Box
A local sponsor can establish your APO address within 90 days of arrival by completing a DA Form 3955. Communication from the Post Office is via email, please provide an email address that you check daily to know if you have received mail items. Notify the Post Office of any status change, such as TDY, PCS or extended leave.
Outbound Mail Size Limit
Length x 2 + Width x 2 + Height x 2 cannot exceed 130 inches, and weight cannot exceed 70 pounds.
Shipping Timeline
It takes approximately two to four weeks for mail to get from Europe to the U.S.
Acceptable Payment Methods
The APO accepts credit or debit cards, no cash.
Authorized Individuals
You can authorize someone else to pick up your mail using PS Form 3801. This form is available at the Post Office.
Mail Storage
Mail is held for 30 days before it is returned to sender. To hold your mail for more than 30 days, please fill out DD Form 2258, which is available at the post office.
