Achievements in Government service requires an understanding of the goals of the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) program by all managers and supervisors. When there are clearly significant achievements in supporting EEO, deserving managers, supervisors, employees, or units merit recognition for their contributions to attaining these goals.

Persons who, through superior efforts, extend equal opportunity to minority, women, and disabled applicants and employees should be recognized. Recognition for achievements in EEO should focus on persons who have achieved outstanding results in furthering the goals of the program through unusually effective leadership, skill, imagination, innovation, and perseverance.

Local Recognition
In order to recognize contributions and support of the EEO program locally, the EEO Office has instituted local recognition of a manager who has made a significant contribution to the attainment of EEO goals and objectives. The EEO Quality Manager of the Year (QMOY) Award is presented to a supervisor or manager who has provided outstanding support to the EEO program within their organization. This support is demonstrated by efforts to balance the workforce through training or recruitment efforts, and encouraging employees to participate as collateral duty personnel, and provide civilian employees a full and fair opportunity to excel within their positions while positioning Fort Knox as a recognized EEO employer.
