The mission of the Directorate of Human Resources is to provide Fort Knox with human resource support - Military Personnel, Continuing Education, Substance Abuse Prevention, Administrative Services and Workforce Development. It ensures the personnel readiness of assigned units, takes care of Soldier's personal needs, and trains and develops the Garrison civilian workforce.
The Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization, and Security (DPTMS) provides operational and planning support to all mission partners on the installation. Plans, program, and manage the Army Schools Programs. Manage and execute the installation protection and emergency program, and plans. Coordinate and synchronize the installation Mobilization Force Generation Installation (MFGI) mission. Provide regional personnel and information security services. Manages and controls the use of Fort Knox ranges and training areas. Provide TADSS support, live training management, and safety oversight (virtual & constructive under SGO). Provide airfield and air traffic operations in support of the Army Reserve Aviation Command and aviation multi service joint training and operations. Provide a full service integrated visual information service.
The mission of the Directorate of Public Works (DPW) can be broken down into the following areas:
Conduct real property management and facilities maintenance, repair, construction and disposal.
Provide installation master planning functions.
Ensure environmental compliance pollution prevention energy conservation and preservation of natural and cultural resources.
Provide on-post housing assignments, maintenance and off-post housing referral.
The mission of the Directorate of Resource Management is to identify, formulate, allocate, and monitor execution of the Garrison's funding, manpower, equipment and agreement programs. Serving as principal advisor on resources and internal control programs for the Fort Knox's Garrison Commander and Garrison staff.
The Equal Employment Opportunity Office (EEO) administers the discrimination complaint process for Department of the Army civilian employees at Fort Knox, along with the Affirmative Employment Program Plan, the Disability Program and Special Emphasis Program Committees and is responsible for educating the workforce in all aspects of EEO.
The EEO staff monitors the civilian workforce to ensure that employment decisions are made without regard to the age, race, national origin, color, gender, religion or disability of an employee or applicant for employment.

Provide command and control, administrative, logistical, and training support for all assigned and attached Soldier's at the Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment (HHD) Garrison, Fort Knox, Kentucky.

The Installation Safety Office guides, supports and instills safety with three key elements, engaged leadership, responsible employees, and committed team-mates, for mission and activity incident reduction and accidental loss of governmental property.

The Logistics Readiness Center is the 407th AFSB representative agent for logistics and serves as the principal advisor to and assists the Installation & Garrison Commanders on all matters pertaining to logistics. We provide logistics, training, and readiness support to active duty and reserve component units, for maintenance, transportation, supply and services.

The Plans, Analysis and Integration Office (PAIO) is responsible for gathering and analyzing data for higher headquarters, tracking the implementation of higher headquarters policies and overseeing long-range plans. The PAIO consists of two divisions, the Analysis and Integration Division and the Strategic Planning Division.
The Fort Knox Public Affairs Office (PAO) executes the command information, community relations and media relations missions as part of keeping internal and external audiences informed of Fort Knox missions, roles and activities. A variety of communications mediums are employed to fulfill this responsibility, to include the installation website, online newspaper, media engagements, community outreach and social media platforms.
The Fort Knox religious support office provides comprehensive religious support for the spiritual and moral needs of Soldiers, other service members, Family members, retirees, and authorized civilians.
The legal office provides legal services to service members and their Families to include claims, legal assistance, tax preparation, magistrate issues (including tickets), military justice, and administrative, civil, or labor law (including investigating officer appointments).
