Command Sergeant Major Quentin V. Fenderson was born in Demopolis, Alabama (Roll Tide), and is married to the former Olivia Cobb of Brownsville, Tennessee.  He is the proud father of Alicia, Tiarra and Quentin II along with three grandkids, Andrew, Logan, and Levi. 

  He entered the military on March 16th, 1995 and completed Infantry OSUT training at Fort Benning, Georgia. 

  Upon completion, CSM Fenderson was assigned to 566 MI BN (LRS) prior to transitioning to 2nd BN, 7th Cav, 1st Calvary Division, Fort Hood, Texas, where he served as a rifleman and BFV driver.  He then served with 3rd BN, 12th IN which later reflagged to 1st BN, 6th IN, 1st Armored Division located in Baumholder Germany.  While assigned, he served as a Rifleman, and Rifle Team leader and deployed in support of Operation Joint Endeavor (Bosnia) and Operation Able Sentry (Macedonia).

  After his tour in Germany, CSM Fenderson was assigned to 1st BN, 30 IN Regiment, 3rd ID where he served as a Rifle Team leader, BFV Gunner, Rifle Squad leader and Company Master Gunner and deployed to Egypt in support of Operation Bright Star.  CSM Fenderson was then assigned to the New York City Recruiting BN, Queens Company, where he served as a Detail Recruiter and a Station Commander.  After his tenure, he returned to 1st BN, 30th IN where he served as a Battalion Master Gunner, a Platoon Sergeant and deployed to Iraq in support of OIF I and III.  Upon redeployment of OIF III, he was assigned to 1st BN, 15th IN, 3 ID where he served as a Platoon Sergeant, and deployed back to Iraq in support of OIF V and also served as the BCT Master Gunner.  Upon redeployment, he was reassigned to 2nd BN, 69th Armor, 3 ID, where he served as a First Sergeant for both Bravo Company and HHC, deploying to Iraq in support of OIF VII.  Upon redeployment, CSM Fenderson was assigned to FORSCOM HQ as an assistant Inspector General where he deployed to Afghanistan in support of OEF.  After his time at USASMA, he was assigned to Ops Grp, JMRC located in Hohenfels, Germany as the Interim BN Sergeant Major, and Ops SGM for the 1st BN, 4th IN (OPFOR), and BDE Ops SGM OCT (Mustangs).  After his completion of his assignment, CSM Fenderson was assigned as the BN CSM for 1st BN, 30th IN, 3rd ID.  During his tenure he served as the Interim CSM for 2nd IBCT and deployed to Africa in support of the AFRICOM rotation. 

  CSM Fenderson recently served as the Brigade CSM for 1ABCT, 1ID (Devil’s), Fort Riley, Kansas and deployed to Poland in support of EUCOM.  CSM Fenderson is a graduate of United States Sergeant’s Major Academy (Class 63).  He has graduated from all levels of the NCOES as well as the First Sergeant’s course.  His military and civilian education also includes Bradley Master Gunner Course, along with others and he holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Leadership from St. John’s University (Queens, NY).

  CSM Fenderson awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star w/two oak leaf clusters, Meritorious Service medal w/three oak leaf clusters, and many others to include the Combat Infantryman Badge, and the Expert Infantryman Badge.  He is also the recipient of the Order of St. Maurice.
