Command Sergeant Major Michael A. Deleon hails from Pensacola, Florida and joined the U.S. Army in August 2002. He attended one station unit training in Fort Knox, Kentucky and was awarded the MOS, 19K: M1 Abrams Armor Crewman.

Command Sergeant Major Deleon previously served as the Brigade Command Sergeant Major for the Ready First Combat Team, 1st Brigade, 1st Armored Division in Fort Bliss, Texas.

Throughout his career he served in all positions on the M1A1/A2 Abrams Main Battle Tank and all enlisted leadership positions from SGT to 1SG within a tank company. His other positions include Headquarters and Headquarters Company First Sergeant, Company Master Gunner, Battalion Master Gunner, Joint Multinational Training Group-Ukraine Range Operations NCOIC, G3 Operations NCOIC, Detailed Recruiter, Senior Armor Observer Coach-Trainer, Squadron and Brigade Operations Sergeant Major, and Battalion and Brigade Command Sergeant Major.

CSM Deleon’s military education includes all Professional Military Education (PME) within Noncommissioned Officers Professional Development System (NCOPDS) to include the Sergeants Major Academy Class 71, Army Recruiter Course, M1/M1A1 Abrams Master Gunner Course, Army Combative Level I and II, Joint Fire Power and Controller Course, Advanced Gunnery Training System Senior Instructor Operator Course, Unit Movement Officer Course, Master Fitness Trainer Course, Air Assault Course, Rappel Master Course, Pathfinder Course, Observer Coach Trainer (OC-T) Academy, Combat Advisor Training Course, and the Battalion and Brigade Pre-Command Course.

CSM Deleon holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science through Purdue University Global and a Master’s Degree in Defense and Strategic Studies through the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP).

CSM Deleon is married to Jamie Deleon and they have two daughters.
