1SG Alan M. Kheang

First Sergeant Alan M. Kheang was born in Portland, Maine and entered the U.S. Army on 11 January 2007. He attended Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training in Fort Fort Jackson, South Carolina.

His previous assignments include HHT, 4th Squadron, 6th United States Cavalry, Fort Lewis, Washington, (2007-2010); HHC, 1st Signal Brigade, Yongsan, Korea (2010-2011); The Defense Information School, Fort Meade, Maryland (2011-2014); Stockton Recruiting Station, Stockton, California (2014-2018); HHC, 524th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii (2018-2021); Inspector General Office, United States Army Central, Shaw Airforce Base, South Carolina (2021-2024) and HHC, 3rd Mobile Brigade, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii (2024-2026). First Sergeant Kheang has participated in numerous deployments to include Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Inherent Resolve.

First Sergeant Kheang’s military and civilian education include the Company Commander-First Sergeant Course, Master Leader Course, Inspector General Course, Senior Leader Course, Army Recruiting Course, Equal Opportunity Leader Course, Unit Prevent Leader Couse, Advanced Leader Course, Instructor Training Course, Sexual Harassment Assault Response and Prevention Course, Basic Leader Course, Army Combatives Level 1 and Combat Life Saver Course. He graduated from Troy University in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice.

First Sergeant Kheang’s awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal (5 OLC), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal (6 OLC), Valorous Unit Award, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Army Superior Unit Award, Inspector General Badge and the Army Recruiter Badge.

First Sergeant Kheang is married and they have two children.
