TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT:

Please visit https://idco.dmdc.osd.mil/idco/ to make an appointment for an ID Card/CAC at one of our ID card facilities co-located at the Visitor Control Center. 

 

 

GENERAL INFORMATION:

 

TELEWORKERS

Teleworkers/remote workers must physically connect through their home installation network to publish their new certificates. That can't be done through VPN.

Those with DREN accounts need to let their IT office know that they are coming in for a CAC renewal before their appointments. Those with door access will need to update with IT after the CAC is issued.

CIVILIANS

NEW HIRES: Make your appointment after you receive your SF-50. Bring TWO valid pieces of identification. See "Acceptable forms of ID" section below.

RENEWAL: To renew your CAC, you must be within 90 days of the expiration date. You must bring TWO forms of valid ID. See "Acceptable Forms of ID" section below.

If you previously required a fingerprint override please call either location to set the appointment and let them know.

CONTRACTORS

NEW HIRE OR RENEWAL:  Make your appointment after you have received confirmation from your Contract Supervisor for your approval in the MP-ICAM system. You will not get an email notice of approval.

OCONUS TRAVEL

CIVLIAN/CONTRACTOR OCONUS CAC (Not accompanying forces): Employees assigned to CONUS positions are not authorized Emergency Essential coding. We can upload a digitally signed Form 2365, however, CAC is issued in host country and processed by Personnel Servicing Agency (CPAC or DOCPER).

CONTRACTOR OCONUS CAC (Accompanying forces): For OCONUS condition to be provisioned, contractor must be in DEERS, inside deployment dates, and provide a Synchronized Predeployment and Operational Tracker (SPOT) Letter of Authorization (LOA), with the “CAAF” block checked or DD Form 2365, an Overseas Position Agreement. Please bring TWO forms of valid identification. Your current CAC counts as one valid form.

PIN RESET/BLOCKED CAC

We accept walk-ins for CAC pin reset or blocked CACs daily between 0710 - 1130 and 1300 - 1510.

*Not open on federal holidays or weekends.

LOST OR STOLEN CAC

Detroit Arsenal Lost or Stolen form must be filled out and presented at time of appointment. Click HERE for form.  (Form attached to email above) Please bring TWO forms of valid identification.

DEERS

ADDING DEPENDENTS

To add dependents, children, spouse, parent, stepchild, you must have their social security card, birth certificate and any other required documents listed at www.dmdc.osd.mil. Dependents 18 and older must have a valid state issued photo ID. Certificates of live birth can only be accepted for babies less than 30 days old.

STUDENTS 21-23

Must have a letter from the school stating the student's name, full time status and estimated graduation date or semester ending date.

100% DISABLED VETS

Bring your VA Award Letter, your DD214 and two forms of valid ID.

If your spouse also needs an ID, a marriage license is required as well as two forms of ID.

CIVILIAN RETIREE

The Deptartment of Defense discontinued the Civilian Retiree Card Program. To access a military installation, please visit the Visitor Control Center with your Real ID and final retirement SF-50.

ACCEPTABLE FORMS OF ID

PRIMARY IDENTITY:

  • Valid Driver's License or State I.D. with photo
  • Valid US Passport
  • Foreign Passport
  • U.S. Military, Civilian, Contractor CAC if NOT Expired or Dependent ID card.
  • Visit https://www.cac.mil for additional types of primary IDs

SECONDARY IDENTITY: The secondary identity source may be a primary ID, but cannot be the same ID or type of ID.

  • U.S. Social Security card
  • Original or certified copy of birth certificate are a few examples.
  • Visit https://www.cac.mil for more types of secondary ID's.
