The Fort Campbell Army Substance Abuse Program (ASAP) supports the entire command, Service Members, and military community by providing unit and personnel readiness, quality of life regarding substance abuse deterrence efforts, community education and prevention programs, identification, and rehabilitation to meet future needs.
ASAP Prevention
Provide informative and up to date substance abuse prevention training for Soldiers, leaders, Civilian employees, and other groups upon request; assist commanders and Unit Prevention Leaders with unit-based substance abuse prevention programs; and provide information and awareness to the community by promoting substance abuse prevention campaigns throughout the year.
Soldiers on the installation will receive at least one hour of substance abuse prevention training annually by an Army Substance Abuse Program Specialist, and the remaining three hours will be provided by the unit prevention leader.
Civilian supervisors and employees will receive training about signs and symptoms of substance abuse and substance abuse trends in conjunction with information regarding the Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
Members of the military community will gain awareness on the misuse and abuse of alcohol and other substances by promoting special emphasis campaigns such as Alcohol Awareness Month, Red Ribbon Week and Drunk and Drugged Distracted Driving (4D) Prevention Month.

Pamphlets and posters are available to assist with unit or other organizational prevention programs on the installation.
Alcohol breathalyzers (non-evidentiary) are available for sign out to assist unit commanders in randomly checking Soldiers during unannounced unit inspections and fitness for duty testing.
Prevention displays may be set up during deployment and resiliency events on Fort Campbell as well as during prevention events at off-post agencies.
Drug Testing and Collection
The Fort Campbell ASAP Drug Testing Collection Point is responsible for operating a forensically secure installation drug testing collection point for Military and Civilian samples.
Provide notification to Commanders and Civilian supervisors of any POSITIVE urinalysis test results.
Conduct the Unit Prevention Leaders Certification course on a monthly basis.
Conduct drug testing of Army Civilian employees who occupy positions identified as Testing Designated Positions as well as pre-employment drug testing under the Drug Free Workplace Program.
Deter Soldiers from abusing drugs (including illegal drugs, prescription drugs and other illicit drugs) by conducting Smart Testing.
Allow Commanders to assess the security, military fitness, good order and discipline of their unit.
Advising the Garrison Commander regarding actions having an impact on achieving a Drug-Free Federal Workplace for Civilian employees.
Notifying the ASAP Program Manager of employees with positive urinalysis test results.
Employee Assistance Program
EAP is a job a based program designed to help DOD Civilian employees experiencing problems that can affect their workplace performance or well-being. The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) at Fort Campbell provides confidential, appropriate and timely problem-screening services, as well as referral and follow-up services with health care providers when appropriate. Participation in the EAP is voluntary and will not jeopardize an employee`s job. The goal of these services is to help employees achieve a balance between their work, Family, and other personal responsibilities.
