Mr. Sean C. Lehane
Mr. Sean C. Lehane assumed duties as the Deputy to the Garrison Commander, Fort Belvoir, VA in August 2024. In this position, he is the senior garrison Civilian and advises the Garrison Commander on all installation management and base operations activities. He is responsible for managing and integrating all installation services that provide vital support to Service members, Department of Defense Civilians, Families, and retirees assigned to and living in the Fort Belvoir military community.
Following Mr. Lehane’s retirement from the Army in 2005, he began his civilian service in the Installation Management Agency prior to the formation of IMCOM.
Mr. Lehane’s prior key civilian assignments include: Deputy to the Garrison Commander, U.S. Army Garrison Ansbach, Germany; Deputy Garrison Manager, U.S. Army Garrison Bavaria – Garmisch, Germany; Deputy to the Garrison Commander, U.S. Army Garrison Natick, MA; Deputy to the Garrison Commander, Fort Devens, MA; Director of Plans, Training, Mobilization, and Security, U.S. Army Garrison Natick, MA; Director of Plans, Training, Mobilization, and Security, U.S. Army Garrison Benelux, SHAPE/Chievres, Belgium; Chief of Plans and Operations, U.S. Army Garrison Yongsan, Seoul, Korea.
Mr. Lehane holds a Master of Arts in Public Administration from Framingham State University, a Master of Science in International Relations from Troy State University, and a Bachelors degree in History and Social Sciences from Northwestern State University. Mr. Lehane has also completed the Army Management and Staff College Advanced CES course, the Monterey Naval Postgraduate School Cost Management Course, and the IMCOM Garrison Leaders Course.
Mr. Lehane’s civilian awards include the Meritorious Civilian Service Medal, the Civilian Superior Service Award, the Commander’s Award for Civilian Service (3rd award), and the Achievement Medal for Civilian Service (2nd award).
His military awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (2nd award), Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal (6th award), Joint Service Achievement Medal (3rd award), Army Achievement Medal (8th award), Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Ranger Tab, Pathfinder Badge, Master Parachutist Badge, Expert Infantryman’s Badge, and German Bronze Parachutist Badge. Mr. Lehane has also served in units that were awarded the Meritorious Unit Commendation and the Army Superior Unit Award.
Mr. Lehane is also a recipient of The Order of Saint Maurice (Centurion) and a City/County Manager Senior Fellowship Program participant for FY24-25.
Mr. Lehane originally hails from Boston and is married to Katharine (Kari) Sharpe.
