WSMR Army Community Service looking for volunteers
Are you looking for something to do this summer? Then stop by the Army Community Service office and sign up to be a volunteer.
Volunteering is a good opportunity to learn new skills and get job experience and not just at WSMR but in the surrounding communities.
Whether you want to work with animals or in an office setting volunteering is the way to go.
Maria Pangborn, the new Volunteer Program Manager at ACS, recently had a meeting with the Organization Point of Contacts, where she presented her plan for the year.
Pangborn, who started as a volunteer at ACS, said her goal for the year is to recruit more volunteers and to hold the Volunteer Recognition Ceremony during National Volunteer Week April 20-26, 2025.
She is also working on expanding the volunteer opportunities to organizations off post.
Pangborn said she is currently getting ready for a Volunteer Recruitment Fair and other events to help recruit volunteers.
At this time ACS is looking for volunteers to run the front desk and they are looking for someone to help out specifically July 9-11 between the hours of 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Child and Youth Services is also looking for volunteers to serve as coaches for various sports.
If interested in these volunteer opportunities and others, contact Pangborn at (575) 678-2889 or (575) 678-6767.
