Nominations accepted for Hall of Fame
White Sands Missile Range is now accepting nominations for its Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame was created in 1980 to honor personnel who have made significant contributions to the missile range while assigned there. Of the 58 inductees, some notable members include the astronomer Clyde Tombaugh and rocket scientist Wernher von Braun. Last year, Bill Rice from Las Cruces was inducted along with Jean Simpkins from El Paso.
The deadline for submissions is March 31. The White Sands Missile Range Historical Foundation is partnering with the Range and will be handling most of the details for the nomination process. For information on requirements and the submission form, contact Jim Eckles at 19jeckles50@gmail.com. Nominations should be submitted electronically as Word or text documents.
