Highway 70 is scheduled to be blocked one time on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, beginning at 12:25 PM. This block will last approximately one hour, lifting around 1:25 PM. The block will be located at BLUE Block (2 miles east of the Owen access road, near Mile Marker 172) and YELLOW Block (near White Sands National Park, mile marker 200). San Augustin Pass and Las Cruces gate are NOT affected by this block; however, Nike Avenue is affected. Please be advised all blocks are subject to change. Guidance in case of medical emergencies during a roadblock or gate closure: If someone is stopped during a roadblock or gate closure and feel they are experiencing a medical emergency, they should drive to the front of the roadblock or gate and tell the on-side police officer or gate guard they are having a medical emergency. This block will be located at BLUE Block (2 miles east of the access road - Mile Marker 172) and YELLOW Block (White Sands National Park /mile marker 200).
