BG Patrick Pardy

BG Pardy enlisted as a combat engineer in 1986.  He received his commission as an Engineer Officer from the University of South Dakota ROTC program in 1992.  He is a graduate of the Engineer Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, Air Assault School, Command and General Staff Officer Course and the Combined Arms and Services Staff School, and the United States Army War College.

Previous non-command assignments include service as an Engineer Platoon Leader, Battalion S2, Battalion S3, Brigade S3, State G3 and G2.  His command assignments include: Company Commander B Company 153d Engineer Battalion, Battalion Commander 153d Engineer Battalion, Brigade Commander 196 Maneuver Enhancement Brigade.  BG Pardy deployed twice to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

BG Pardy holds a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of South Dakota, a Masters degree in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College and a Bachelors of Science from the University of South Dakota.  His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, The Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal (5th Award), Global War on Terrorism Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, The NATO international Security Force Medal, the Air Assault Badge, the Combat Action Badge and the Bronze De Fluery Medal. 

In his civilian career BG Pardy serves the State of South Dakota as a Circuit Judge in South Dakota’s Third Judicial Circuit.
