BG Murray Holt II
BG Murray Holt II enlisted as an Engineer in 1990. He is a graduate of the Adjutant General Basic and Engineer Officer Advanced Courses. He is also a graduate of the Joint Task Force Commander's Course, the Executive Joint Domestic Operations Course, the Dual Status Commander's Course, the U.S. Army Engineer School Pre-Command Course, the United States Army Command and General Staff College, and the United States Army War College. Holt assumed his position as Deputy Commanding General For the Maneuver Support Center of Excellence in April of 2023.
Holt's previous assignments include Press Officer, 153d Public Affairs Detachment, Charleston, WV; Commander, Detachment 1, 196th Public Affairs, Charleston, WV; Environmental Officer, Joint Forces Headquarters, Charleston, WV; Construction Management Officer, Procurement/Budget Officer, S-3, Executive Officer, and Commander for the 111th Engineer Group, Red House, WV; he has also served as the Chief of Staff, Joint Forces Headquarters, Charleston, WV; the Assistant Adjutant General, Charleston, WV; and as the Director, Joint Staff-Joint Forces Headquarters in Charleston WV. Brigadier General Holt has had two deployments to serve in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.
Holt has earned a bachelor of science in Business Administration from West Virginia State University; a Master of Science in Business Administration from West Virginia University; and a Master of Strategic Studies from the United States Army War College.
In his civilian career Holt serves as the Army Assistant Adjutant General for West Virginia, and has professional memberships with the Army Engineer Association, the National Guard Association of West Virginia, and the National Guard Association of the United States. He is also a certified public accountant.
