Mr. Douglas Babb, MSCoE and Fort Leonard Wood Deputy to the Commanding General
Douglas Babb hails from Kissimmee, Florida. Prior to the appointment as Deputy to the Commanding General, Maneuver Support Center of Excellence, Mr. Babb served as the Director, Information and Technology for the HQ Department of the Army (HQDA) G9. In this position, he was directly responsible for the oversight and management of multiple IT related portfolios that include Federal Information Security Management Act of 2002 (FISMA) compliance, installation business system data health metrics, control systems governance, A365 migration and technical integration for the Enterprise Exceptional Family Member Program (E-EFMP) initiative.
From June 2021 to April 2022, he served in the HQDA G6 shaping the Army 5G experimentation and enterprise integration portfolio.
In June 2021, Mr. Babb was the Distinguished Graduate from the Eisenhower School of National Security and Resource Management located at Fort McNair, Washington, DC.
In December 2019 he was selected into the Defense Senior Leader Development Program (DSLDP) preparing for advanced career opportunities across the Department of Defense and Federal Government. Prior to that assignment, he served as the Director, Network Enterprise Center (NEC) at Fort Cavazos, Texas, providing Classified and Unclassified voice, and data services to 3- and 4-Star Army Headquarters across a region which includes Dallas, Austin Beaumont, and Fort Cavazos, Texas.
Mr. Babb holds a Master’s of Science (MS) in National Security and Resource Strategy, Eisenhower School, National Defense University in Washington, DC along with a Master’s Degree (MA) in Telecommunications Management from Webster University.
Mr. Babb culminated over 21 years of military service as the Deputy Director at Network Operations (NETOPS) at Fort Eisenhower, Georgia. His awards and decorations include. Bronze Star with “V” Device, Bronze Star (2d Award) and a Meritorious Service Medal.
