Command Sgt. Maj. Keyon Cummings, Maneuver Support Center of Excellence and Fort Leonard Wood Command Sergeant Major

Command Sergeant Major Keyon Cummings is a native of Georgia. He enlisted in the United States Army in 2002 as a Combat Engineer and completed One Station Unit Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.

His assignments include Company C., 27th Engineer Battalion, 20th Engineer Brigade, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Headquarters and Headquarters Co., 20th Engineer Brigade, Fort Bragg; Co. C,  3-10 Infantry Regiment, Fort Leonard Wood/ Co. C, 2-10  Infantry Regiment, Fort Leonard Wood; 425th Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 4-25th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, HHC (Rear), Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska; 13th Expeditionary Sustainment Command, Fort Hood, Texas; Co. A, 91st Engineer Battalion, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, First Cavalry Division, Fort Hood; HHB, 32nd Army Air and Missile Defense Command, Fort Bliss, Texas; XVIII Airborne Corps, Fort Bragg; 8th Engineer Battalion, 2nd Armored Brigade Combat, First Cavalry Division, Fort Hood; 36th Engineer Brigade, III Armored Corps, Fort Hood.

Cummings’ deployments include Operation Enduring Freedom three times and Operation Iraqi Freedom once, as well as one rotation to Korea.

He is a graduate of all levels of the Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development System, including First Sergeant and Commander Pre-Command Course; Battle Staff; Drill Sergeant School; Sapper Leader Course; Airborne School; Jumpmaster School; Air Assault School; Master Resiliency Training; Equal Opportunity Leader; Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt); Cold Weather Leader Course; Combat Lifesaver Course; and Field Sanitation Course.

Cummings holds a bachelor’s degree in Sports and Health Science from American Military University, and a master’s degree in Leadership Studies from the University of Texas at El Paso.
