Command Sgt. Maj. Jorge Arzabala, Maneuver Support Center of Excellence and Fort Leonard Wood Command Sergeant Major

Command Sergeant Major Jorge Arzabala is a native of El Paso, Texas. He enlisted in the Army as a Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical Specialist in 1999, attending One Station Unit Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.

His assignments include CBRN Specialist, 1st Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment, Fort Campbell, KY; Training NCO, 20th Maintenance Company, 194th Maintenance Battalion, Camp Humphreys, Korea; Squad Leader & Operations Sergeant, 46th Chemical Company, 2nd Chemical Battalion; Drill Sergeant, Foxtrot, Echo, & Alpha Company, 82nd Chemical Battalion, Fort Leonard Wood, MO; Platoon Sergeant, 101st Chemical Company, 83rd Chemical Battalion, Fort Bragg (known as Fort Liberty since 2023), NC; Operations Sergeant, Protection Cell, XVIII Airborne Corps, Fort Bragg, NC; Operations Sergeant, First Sergeant, and Force Integration Staff Officer, USAOSE in Washington, DC. As a Command Sergeant Major, he has served in the 2nd Chemical Battalion, Fort Hood; 3rd Chemical Brigade, Fort Leonard Wood, and the 20th CBRNE Command, Aberdeen Proving Ground. He has deployed to Kosovo and Iraq for peacekeeping and combat operations. He assumed his current position as the Maneuver Support Center of Excellence, Fort Leonard Wood Command Sergeant Major in January 2023.

His military education includes the Primary Leadership Development Course (Commandant’s List), Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course (Distinguished Honor Graduate), Advanced Noncommissioned Officer Course (Leadership Award), First Sergeant Course, Class 67 of the United States Army Sergeants Major Course (Commandant’s List), and the Nominative Leaders Course. Other courses include Drill Sergeant School (Commandant’s List), Air Assault School, Unit Prevention Leader Course, Unit Armorer Course, Combative Level 3 Course, Airborne School, Contracting Officer Course, Technical Escort Course, Jumpmaster Course, SERE Course, Battle Staff Course, Manpower & Force Management Course, and Master Resilience Trainer Course. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Homeland Security and Emergency Management from Ashford University and a Master of Arts degree in Leadership Studies from The University of Texas at El Paso.
