LTC David Escobar
Lieutenant Colonel Dave Escobar, is a native of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. He was commissioned as an Armor officer in 2001 through the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree Operations Research/ Systems Engineering. He later earned a Master of Arts degree in English Literature from Hofstra University, located in Hempstead, N.Y.
Lieutenant Colonel Escobar’s assignments include Tank Platoon Leader, Scout Platoon Leader, and Recon Troop Executive Officer in the 3rd Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division at Fort Hood, Texas; Brigade Staff Officer, Troop Commander, and Squadron S-3 in 1st Squadron, 9th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division at Fort Bliss, Texas; Instructor, Department of English & Philosophy at West Point; Battalion S-3 and Executive Officer in the 1st Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division; Liaison Detachment S-3 with the First and Third Republic of Korea Field Armies, South Korea; and Policy Branch Chief at Headquarters, Department of the Army Staff, G-1 in Washington, D.C.
Lieutenant Colonel Escobar’s deployments include 36 months across two tours to Iraq and one tour to Afghanistan.
Lieutenant Colonel Escobar is a graduate of the Armor Officer Basic Course, the Infantry Captain Career Course, the Command and General Staff College, and the Combined Operations Training Course, Korea Joint Forces Military University. His decorations include the Bronze Star (3rd Award), Meritorious Service Medal (4th Award), Combat Action Badge, and Parachutist Badge.
