Colonel Stephen E Capehart         Deputy Commander - Support

 

 

 

Colonel Stephen E. Capehart currently serves as the Deputy Commanding Officer for Support for the 3d Infantry Division. He entered the Army 1999 as an Armor Officer. He is Distinguished Military Graduate from the University of Tennessee and holds master’s degrees in strategic studies from the United States Army War College and in international relations from Webster’s University. His military education includes Armor Officer Basic Course, Armor Officer Career Course, Combined Arms Staff School, United States Army Command and General Staff College, Joint Planners Course and the United States Army War College.
 
His command assignments include: C Company, 3d Battalion, 7th Infantry Regiment, 4th Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3d Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Georgia; 1st Battalion, 68th Armored Regiment, 3d Armored Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colorado; 3d Armored Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colorado; Commander of Operations Group, National Training Center, Fort Irwin, California.
 
Colonel Capehart’s other assignments include: Aide De Camp to the Commandant, United States Army Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas; Aide De Camp, followed by Deputy Executive Officer to the Commanding General, United States Army Cyber Command, Fort Belvoir, Virginia; Crisis Management Division Chief, United States Northern Command, Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
 
He has multiple operational and combat tours to include Kosovo, Latvia, Kuwait, Poland, and Iraq.
 
His awards and decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal, the Legion of Merit with one OLC, the Bronze Star medal with one OLC, Meritorious Service Medal with six OLC, Army Commendation Medal with Valor Device, Army Commendation Medal with three OLC, Army Achievement Medal with 3 OLC, Combat Action Badge, Airborne Badge and one NATO medal (Kosovo).
