Apennines Drive construction: June 3 - Oct. 30

Concrete repair and surface milling will be performed on Apennines Drive June 3 - Oct. 30. One lane will be closed at a time in the  area of construction area. One lane will remain open for traffic. The construction area will vary in length to maintain access to roads, facility, and parking entrances.

Trooper Access Control Point Closure: Aug. 7

Trooper ACP is closed for work and Grant ACP is open  24/7.

Normandy Drive and Ashby Avenue: Aug. 12 - Sep. 25


The construction is to resurface roadways on Normandy Drive and Ashby Avenue, 1st Division Road to Trooper Drive.

  • Expect significant traffic delays on this section of Normandy Drive during the construction period.
  • Using alternative routes to avoid this area are highly recommended during the construction.

The construction will be done one lane at a time leaving only one lane of traffic around the construction zone. Traffic at the construction zone will be controlled by flagmen and a pilot vehicle around the construction zone. The construction will also be done in sections to retain access to side streets and parking lots and to allow for traffic queuing at the construction zone.

2nd Street Road Closure: Sep. 1 - Nov. 20


Construction on 2nd Street and a portion of H Street in Camp Forsyth is scheduled to undergo a complete road and roadbed replacement. During the construction 2nd Street will be colsed from Trooper Drive to H Street, and H Street will be closed from 2nd Street to 1st Street. Access to CDC 2410 will be via 3rd Street. Access to CDC 2420 will be via Hitching Post Road to H Street. There will be a lane shift on Trooper Drive in the vicinity of 2nd Street, but two way traffic will be retained.

Moreover, leaders are reminded to monitor their Soldiers for adequate water consumption whenever their soldiers are performing to hard work.

Closures and Delays

The following scheduled road closures and expected traffic delays are due to ongoing infrastructure upgrades. Please allow more time in your travels or avoid these areas during these periods.

Beginning January 29 and expected to last about 6 weeks - Southbound traffic on Huebner Rd will be redirected to Northbound Huebner Rd. The intersection at Custer & McCormick will be a temporary 4-way stop during this time. This work is part of phase two for the bridge replacement on Huebner Rd.

Dec. 23, 2016 - Apr. 01, 2018: road construction will be near the intersection of Huebner and McCormick Roads, west of the Post Cemetery. Drivers should be alert for movement of trucks on and off the roadway. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be overseeing construction of a replacement bridge and realignment of Huebner Road.
