Greetings from the Home of our nation’s Cyber Warriors! 

Welcome to the Fort Meade Religious Support Team page.  Our joint team of Chaplains, Religious Affairs Specialists, Chaplain Assistants (Army and Air Force), and Religious Program Specialists (Navy) are here to serve you the wonderful Fort Meade Family.  We would like for you to know that you are not at Fort Meade by accident.  God has you here by divine design, and He has a purpose that He wants you to fulfill.  We stand ready to assist you in finding and/or fulfilling God’s purpose in your life while you serve here.  Below outlines our broad vision, mission, and religious support priorities that inform our provision of religious support ministry to the Fort Meade Family.  

Religious Support Vision: 

Our vision is to be a trained, ready, and adaptive joint “Ministry Team-of-Teams” excelling in religious leadership and comprehensive religious support empowering the Fort Meade Family for life and service.

Religious Support Mission: 

Our mission is to provide religious leadership and comprehensive religious support that enhances the readiness, resiliency and empowerment of the Fort Meade Family for life and service.

Religious Support Priorities. 

These are the five broad priorities and their objectives that guide our provision of religious support:

·  Religious Leadership: Provide, promote, and advance the free exercise

of religion, effective religious support program management and relevant advice

to command on matters of religion.

 

·  Worship: Provide a quality, comprehensive, life impacting, worship program.

 

·  Engagement: Connect, encourage, and build-up the Fort Meade Family.

Be a good neighbor to our local community.

 

·  Empowerment: Equip the Fort Meade Family for life and service.

 

·  Service: Empower the Fort Meade Family for service (i.e. chapel, unit,

community).

Our Ministry Commitments:

 

1.  We will minister with purpose, rooted in the conviction of a divine purpose for every life and guided by a commitment to the free exercise of religion, we will seek to enhance force readiness, resiliency, and empowerment for life and service as we provide comprehensive religious support to the Fort Meade Family.

2.  We will minister by example, upholding our particular Service's, Chaplain Corps', and Religious Tradition's values and standards in the provision of intentional religious support to the entire Fort Meade Family.

3.  We will minister with excellence, providing effective religious program management, relevant religious advisement, and world-class religious support informed by cutting edge ministry concepts and practices and the evolving needs of the Fort Meade Family.

4.  We will minister with courage and compassion, advocating for religious freedoms, seizing, retaining, and exploiting the initiative in the provision of quality religious support, and providing compassionate ministry to the entire Fort Meade Family.

5.  We will minister with capable ministry partners, leveraging collective ministry action and building ministry partner capacity to provide responsive religious support to the entire Fort Meade Family.

 

Again, God has placed us here for such a time as this to serve and make a difference in the lives of the Fort Meade Family.  We look forward to serving you, partnering with you in ministry, and drawing upon your unique gifts and experiences to empower the Fort Meade Family for life and service!

** ON-CALL DUTY CHAPLAIN - In the event of an emergency, if you are unable to reach your Unit Chaplain, call (301) 677-6622; or contact the Installation Chaplain’s Office, (301) 677-6703.  Ask for assistance from the On-Call Duty Chaplain. The On-Call Duty Chaplain will return your call and provide immediate assistance.

* The FGGM Chaplains office and Islamic Community has a designated room (Room 124) at Argonne Hills Chapel Center for daily prayers during Ramadan and Jummah services.  For more information, contact Mr. Chad Jones at: (301) 677-1301.

The Family Life Ministry Center

The Family Life Ministry Center (FLMC) is a pastoral counseling center available to all branches of the military services, civilian employees and family members in the Fort Meade community.

  • The goal of the FLMC is to offer professional and compassionate care to the whole person.
  • The counselors at the FLMC are educated and trained in current and recognized models of counseling to provide you dedicated, professional service
  • The FLMC is directed by the Garrison Family Life Chaplain and is staffed by civilian interns enrolled in the Loyola University Maryland Pastoral Counseling Department.  For over a decade, Fort Meade’s Religious Support Office has partnered with Loyola University to provide this ministry.
  • Individual, marriage, and family counseling is offered to provide care for a wide variety of concerns and issues including post traumatic stress, grief, and anger, as well as couples, parenting, and family issues.
  • The FLMC is located at Argonne Hills Chapel Center, 7100 Rockenback Road.
  • Hours of operation are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday
  • Counseling is by appointment.
