"I joined the Army because I wanted to see how strong I actually am, physically and mentally. I also wanted to be a part of a Family and have my college paid for."
"I thought Basic Combat Training would be too difficult and that I'd never be in the Army because I'm too weak. I thought that I wouldn't' be able to endure all of the challenges that I heard Soldiers go through, such as the physical obstacles."
"The most difficult part of BCT was being here at a young age and coming into adult life in this environment. It was a different environment and life to adjust to, but it definitely opened my eyes."
Advice I would give to someone planning to start BCT is, "Listen to your drill sergeants, be grateful, put your ego to the side and always push yourself to the limit."
"My MOS is 25U - Signal Operations Support Specialist. I chose this MOS because I thought it would help me get credentials for a job as a civilian."
