Outdoor Recreation will offer an introduction to archery class for novice archery students which will include all necessary equipment for this course. Each patron will receive detailed instruction on safety and precautions; equipment familiarization; proper stance; how to hold a bow; aiming/sighting; and shooting. Current Army Civilian employees, who are assigned to Fort Jackson, can sign-up for the "Love and Money Matters” workshop held virtually on the MS Teams platform. The two-hour “Love and Money Matters” workshop will teach effective communication strategies and address common money issues in relationships. Learn to set SMART goals as a couple that can lead to wealth building and a stronger relationship. Those wishing to attend must submit names and email addresses to WFD by Feb. 7. One lane will be closed during that time for the repairs and flagmen will be present directing traffic. |

There will be a 26.2 mile and a 14.2 round trip ruck march with 30Ibs (male) & 25Ibs (female). This is a free event for Soldiers and any Department of Defense ID Card Holders (over the age of 18 and in top physical condition. ) Participants can also sign up for the actual Bataan Death March in White Sands Missile Range, and conduct the event virtually using our course. The class hours are 4-7 p.m. Feb. 18, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Feb. 19, and 1-7 p.m. Feb. 20. Attendees must be at least 15 years old; can swim 300 yards continuously; tread water for two minutes without using arms; and must be able to retrieve a 10-kilogram brick from 7-12 feet of water within 1:40. All courses are blended learning requiring the completion of online learning prior to the first day of class. The course costs $160 for authorized patrons and $200 for non-authorized patrons. The costs for recertification are: $80 for authorized patrons and $100 for non-authorized patrons. Refunds are not authorized for failing to meet the pre-requisites or any portion of the course. Participants will go through “Know Your Privately Owned Vehicle 101,” that incorporates inspecting your POV hoses, belts, brakes, rotors, tires and fluids all in a controlled environment. Instructors will assist students with how to change the oil, roadside simulation of a flat tire, rotate tires properly, and we will be using hydraulic vehicle lifts and power tools. You will also be issued your DA Form 3031-1Shop Safety Card, that is honored at all Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation auto skills shops. This is a two- part series.
