Chief Warrant Officer 5 Peter Davis enlisted in the U.S. Army on July 21, 1994, and was appointed a warrant officer on May 27, 2005. He is currently the chief warrant officer of the Military Intelligence Corps and the command chief warrant officer of the U.S. Army Intelligence Center of Excellence.

His recent assignments include chief of warrant officer training for the Intelligence Center of Excellence; command chief warrant officer and Army Technical Control and Analysis Element technical director, 704th Military Intelligence Brigade; military intelligence warrant officer proponent, Intelligence Center of Excellence; military intelligence warrant officer career manager, Human Resources Command; and chief of the Military Forces Division, JIOC-Central, U.S. Central Command. His unique deployments as an Army officer include tours as a counternarcotics intelligence analyst aboard the U.S. Navy destroyer John Paul Jones and the U.S. Coast Guard cutter Midgett, Joint Interagency Task Force West.

He is a graduate of the Warrant Officer Senior Service Education Course; How the Army Runs Course; Combat Capabilities Development Course; Information Operations Planning Course; Computer Network Operations Planning Course; Military Deception Planning Course; Basic Instructor Training Course; Advanced ELINT Collection and Analysis Course; and the Unit Victim Advocate Course. His civilian education includes an associate degree in intelligence operations from Cochise College and a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from Ashford University.

His awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the German Armed Forces Badge for Military Proficiency in gold.

Davis was born and raised in Baltimore and is married.
