Command Sgt. Maj. Jeffrey S. Abramsohn
Command Sgt. Maj. Jeffrey S. Abramsohn grew up in upstate New York. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and music from Brandeis University in 1998 and enlisted in the U.S. Army in March 2003. He completed Basic Combat Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Huachuca, Arizona, as an All-Source Intelligence Analyst. He earned his Master of Science of Strategic Intelligence from National Intelligence University in 2017.
Abramsohn has served in positions from Team Leader through Command Sergeant Major. His military education includes the All-Source Master Analyst Course, Basic Leader Course, Advanced Leader Course, Senior Leader Course, Sergeants Major Academy Class 71, Battalion Pre-Command Course, Military Intelligence Pre-Command Course, Combat Lifesaver Course, Army Instructor Course, Targeting Officer Training Course, SERE (High Risk) Course, Fundamentals of SIGINT Course, and Capabilities Development Course. He is currently serving as the Garrison Command Sergeant Major at Fort Huachuca, Arizona.
Abramsohn held assignments with the 303rd Military Intelligence Battalion, U.S. Army Intelligence Center of Excellence HQs, U.S. Army Office of Military Support, 1st Capabilities Integration Group, Communications Technology HQs, 706th Military Intelligence Group, the Intelligence Capabilities Development & Integration Directorate, and the 532nd Military Intelligence Battalion. He deployed four times to Iraq, as well as to Lebanon, Bahrain, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Thailand and Singapore.
Abramsohn’s military awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal (2nd Award), Meritorious Service Medal (4th Award), Joint Service Commendation Medal (3rd Award), Army Commendation Medal (3rd Award), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal (2nd Award), Presidential Unit Citation, Meritorious Unit Citation (2nd Award), and Army Good Conduct Medal (7th Award). He holds the National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal (4 Stars), Inherent Resolve Campaign Medal (1 Star), Global War on Terror Expeditionary Medal (3 Stars), Global War on Terror Service Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 5), Army Service Ribbon and Overseas Service Ribbon (Numeral 5). Abramsohn was also awarded the Military Intelligence Corps Knowlton Award.
Abramsohn is married and has four children and two stepchildren.
