COL Landis C. Maddox
Colonel Landis C. Maddox is a Texas native who was born in South Carolina. He attended Angleton High School followed by preparatory schooling at the United States Military Academy Preparatory School in Fort Monmouth, NJ and ultimately received a commission in the Quartermaster (QM) Corps and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mechanical Engineering degree from the United States Military Academy in 1996. COL Maddox entered active duty that same year and attended the Quartermaster Officer Basic Course (QMOBC) at Ft. Lee, VA.
Upon graduation, he completed the Airborne course at Ft. Benning, GA. He has held a wide variety of leadership assignments throughout his 23 year career including: Supply Platoon Leader and Company Executive Officer, Alpha Company, 3d Forward Support Battalion, 3d Infantry Division while deployed during Operation Southern Watch; Battalion S4, 3d Forward Support Battalion, 3d Infantry Division Fort Stewart, GA; Operations Officer and Plans Officer 20th Area Support Group, 19th Theater Army Area Command Camp Henry, South Korea; Petroleum Supply Officer for the 24th Corps Support Group (Forward) while deployed to OIF I, Commander of the 110th QM Company, 260th QM BN, 24th Corps Support Group (Forward), Hunter Army Airfield, Georgia while deployed to OIF III-IV; Deputy G4 and G4 Logistics Operations Officer 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, NY while deployed to OIF VI-VII; 210th Brigade Support Battalion Support Operations Officer and Battalion Executive Officer, 2d Brigade Combat Team, Fort Drum, NY while deployed to OEF VIII; Chief of Petroleum Operations and the Chief of Current Operations United States Forces Korea J4 Yongsan, South Korea; Commander of the 1st Theater Sustainment Command, Special Troops Battalion, Fort Bragg, NC; Strategic Staff Officer in the Logistics Initiative Group in the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff G4 Washington DC, Pentagon. His most recent assignment is as the Assistant Chief of Staff G5 for the 8th Theater Sustainment Command Fort Shafter, HI.
COL Maddox has a Masters in Human Resource Management through Webster University and received a Master’s degree in Strategic Studies from the Army War College. He attended: the Petroleum Officer Course, the Joint Planners Course, the Joint Logistics Officer Course; the Combined Logistics Officer Advance Course, Combined Arms Services Staff School, the Command & General Staff College Schools of Command Preparation, and Intermediate Level Education Course at Fort Leavenworth, KS.
His awards include: Bronze Star Medal (with two Oak Leaf Clusters); Defense Meritorious Service Medal; Meritorious Service Medal (with three Oak Leaf Clusters); Army Commendation Medal (with one Oak Leaf Cluster); Army Achievement Medal (with two Oak Leaf Clusters); National Defense Service Medal (with SBS); Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal; Iraqi Campaign Medal (with six Campaign Stars); Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal; Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; Korea Defense Service Medal; Army Service Ribbon; Overseas Service Ribbon (3rd device); Presidential Unit Citation; Joint Meritorious Unit Award; Army Meritorious Unit Commendation; Parachutist Badge; Air Assault Badge; Distinguished Member of the Quartermaster Corps; and the Order of Saint Martin.
He is married with two children.
