Staff Delegation Tours White Sands Missile Range in June
The Commanding General of White Sands Missile Range, Brig. Gen. Eric Little, hosted a Staff Delegation (STAFFDEL) from the House Armed Services Committee for a tour of WSMR June 1.
Members of the STAFFDEL included the following House Armed Services Committee Professional Staff Members Dane Hughes, Jeanine Womble, and Kyle Noyes.
WSMR was the second stop for this STAFFDEL after stopping at the U.S. Army Futures Command Headquarters in Austin, Texas, followed by a tour at Fort Bliss, Texas. The purpose of the trip was to visit Army Futures Command, WSMR and Fort Bliss, to learn about Army modernization efforts, readiness support and to understand range and infrastructure challenges.
Little’s overview was followed by the following organizational briefings: WSMR Garrison Commander Col. David Mitchell, Command Sgt. Maj. Michael S. Cordery; Patrick Romero, White Sands Test Center; Jason Lowery, White Sands Test Center; Commander Adrian Laney, U.S. Navy; Maj. Joshua Smith, U.S. Air Force; and Col. Theo Unbehagen, Special Operation Forces – Test and Experimentation Center. The tour continued with an aerial tour of facilities on post and a windshield tour of main post.
