WHITE SANDS MISSILE RANGE, N.M. (October 29, 2022) - White Sands School celebrated Red Ribbon Week this week by partnering with the Army Substance Abuse Program (ASAP) and sending daily positive messages to students and their families to stay drug-free.
WSS celebrated Red Ribbon Week with different themes each day, trinkets, guest appearances and special events.
Monday, Oct. 24, students wore red to kick off the week and had a morning guest appearance by McGruff the Crime Dog, who handed out Red Ribbon swag and candy to the students.
Tuesday, Oct. 25, students celebrated “I dream of a drug-free world” by wearing pajamas to school.
Wednesday, Oct. 26, students wore neon colors for “Our future is TOO BRIGHT.”
Thursday, Oct. 27, “Team up against drugs” was honored with students and staff wearing sports jerseys or their favorite team gear.
Friday, Oct. 28, students will end the week with “Future me…Will be Drug-Free,” Career Day, by dressing up as the occupation they would like to have as an adult. Students will also tour booths represented by different occupations to learn about professional roles within the greater community.
