White Sands Missile Range celebrates the U.S. Air Force's 78th Birthday
White Sands Missile Range celebrated the U.S. Air Force's 78th Birthday during a ceremony and cake cutting at the Cox Range Control Center Sept. 18.
Lt. Col. James Lancaster, WSMR Air Force Detachment commander, spoke about the Air Force’s history at WSMR and its role in defending our nation.
“Today the partnership between the Army and the Air Force, WSMR and Holloman, is strong,” Lancaster said. “Looking ahead the future is just as exciting as the past.”
The youngest airman, Airman 1st Class Caleb Merriweather, and the oldest, Chief Master Sgt. Benjamin O’mara, helped cut the birthday cake.
