Visiting ATEC Chaplain hosts resiliency seminar for WSMR Soldiers
WHITE SANDS MISSILE RANGE, N.M. (December 17, 2024) – On Dec. 11, White Sands Missile Range Chaplain (Lt. Col.) Herb Lemke hosted Army Test and Evaluation Command Chaplain (Lt. Col. Promotable) Deborah A. Brown to present a seminar to WSMR Soldiers exploring strategies for navigating challenges both at work and at home. The mission for this seminar, “How to Bloom Where You’re Planted,” was to equip Soldiers with tools to enhance spiritual resiliency in the workforce and beyond.
Topics discussed covered how to maintain a healthy mindset and attitude through life’s changes, reaching goals, and dealing with difficult situations and people. The seminar wrapped up with Soldiers being guided through team exercises to practice the strategies and solutions taught in the seminar.
“We just started this series at ATEC Headquarters, and this is our second time presenting this seminar. We are looking at doing these types of seminars once a quarter and they will be focused on spiritual resiliency by taking pieces of wisdom to use in the workplace as well as at home for individual and greater community growth. This is our first visit to WSMR, and it has enabled us to meet with and connect with more people across ATEC,” said Brown.
The next seminar, “Focusing on the Objective and not the Obstacle,” will be hosted virtually. For more information on how to sign up, contact the ATEC Command Chaplain’s Office at: (443) 861-9405 or (443) 350-2175.
