COL Sedrick L. Jackson

 
 

Colonel Sedrick Jackson is a 1998 graduate of St. Mary’s University, where he received a ROTC Commission. He is a graduate of the Chemical Officer Basic Course, Chemical Captains Career Course, Combined Arms Services Staff School, the Intermediate Level Education/ Advanced Operations Warfighting Course, Recruiting Pre-Command Course, and the Air War College. He has completed a Bachelors in Corporate Finance and holds two master’s degrees, one in Environmental Management and one in Strategic Studies from the United States Air War College.

 

COL Jackson began his career on staff with the 3-82 Field Artillery, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas (known as Fort Cavazos since 2023) and then as a Heavy Decontamination & Mechanized Smoke Platoon Leader and the 68th Chemical Company, 1ST Calvary Division. He then deployed to Kuwait in support of Operation Desert Spring with TF 2-5 CAV. While at Fort Hood, he did three National Training Center rotations at Fort Irwin, CA. After that assignment, he served as the Brigade Chemical Officer in Hanau, Germany. There he deployed in support of OIF I, Iraq and assumed command of the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 130th Combat Engineer BDE (Heavy). COL Jackson then went on to serve as the Company Grade Assignments Officer, Future Readiness Officer and finally as an Account Manager at Human Resource Command in Alexandria, Virginia. Before moving to Joint Base San Antonio, Texas (JBSA), COL Jackson served as an Interagency Fellow with the Department of Health and Human Services in Washington, D.C.

 

While assigned to USARNORTH, Fort Sam Houston, Texas, COL Jackson served as the CBRN Plans Officer, Policy & Strategy Plans Officer. Additional assignments at JBSA include serving as the HHBN BN XO and S3. COL Jackson completed his assignment at JBSA with a 15-month tour to Afghanistan where he served as the Deputy J3 and Essential Function Manager while Operation Enduring Freedom transitioned to Operation Resolute Support. From there he also serves as an Essential Function/Coordinator instructor at the Joint Force Training Center (JFTC) in Bydgoszcz, Poland. At the conclusion of his deployment, COL Jackson served as the CBRNE Chief with the 25th Infantry Division Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. There is also served with the USARPAC CBRNE staff in building the CBRN capability for the Philippines Army in Manila, Philippines. COL Jackson also served in USAREC where he assumed command of the Milwaukee Recruiting Battalion in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After command, served as the CJTF-OIR LNO to CENTCOM, Tampa, Florida and then the CBRNE Chief with HQ, III CORPS, Fort Texas. He then attended United States Air War College in Montgomery, Alabama before arriving to his current duty at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri to serve as the 20th Assistant Commandant, U.S. Army Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) School. COL Jackson became the 20th Assistant Commandant of the USACBRNS in July 2022.

 

His awards and decorations include Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (3-OLC), Army Commendation Medal (2-OLC), Army Achievement Medal (2-OLC), Army Superior Unit Award, National Defense Service Medal and the Bronze Star Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terror Service Medal, and the German Efficiency Badge (Gold). He wears the 130th Combat Engineers BDE (Iraq) as his Combat Patch.
