The Army's Civilian Human Resource Agency (CHRA) is responsible for hiring, developing, and retaining quality civilian personnel who support our soldiers worldwide. CHRA provides a full range of human resources services to support the highly skilled and ready professional civilian workforce which supports national defense.
In October 2023, CHRA re-organized away from local Civilian Personnel Advisory Centers (CPACs) and moved to command-focused directorates with Civilian Human Resources Services Centers (CHRSCs) tailored to optimize support to each command customer.
The Civilian Human Resources Service Center is a team of HR professionals dedicated to supporting and empowering Soldiers, Civilians, Families and Veterans worldwide in an era of persistent conflict. They recruit, retain and sustain a high-quality volunteer force through innovative and effective enterprise solutions. They ensure HR readiness of the Total Army across the full spectrum of operations.
With more than 330,000 civilian employees, Army Civilian Service is one of the largest, busiest and most successful elements within the Department of Army. The Army Civilian Corps is an integral part of the Army team, committed to selfless service in support of the protection and preservation of the United States.
