cOMING TO Poland

Vehicles must be registered after being imported.

To register your privately owned vehicle (POV) in Poland, follow these steps:

  1. Paperwork Submission:
    • Email all required documents from the POV Registration Checklist to the POV registration assistant before starting the process.
    • You must present the original documents during your DMV appointment. (Recommend hand carrying them; do not ship them)
  2. Vehicle Inspection (for all vehicles):
    • Your vehicle will need to pass a technical inspection. Bring your current vehicle registration and technical specifications (such as the owner’s manual).
    • Note that you will not be able to get a vehicle inspection pass if you have front side windows tinted. There would be an option to take off windows tint by inspection station staff for 100 PLN (cash).
    • The inspection fee is 149 PLN for cars and 94 PLN for motorcycles.
    • Here is a list of exemptions from technical requirements for POV's in Poland.
  3. DMV Visit: After passing the inspection, schedule your DMV visit. Bring original documents, including your inspection paperwork and a valid ID or passport.
    •  Be prepared to pay 163 PLN (car) or 123 PLN (motorcycle) in cash for registration.
    • You will also need to obtain Polish liability insurance (OC) on the day of registration.
