Counseling
Our professional counselors provide career, academic, and vocational/technical counseling to assist customers to grow professionally and progress toward the achievement of their own personal goals. The counselors provide an initial inprocessing orientation for newly assigned Soldiers to create an awareness of the educational programs available at Fort Knox. Counselors will assist in establishing short/long range goals to achieve the Soldier's established Army career and civilian education goals. Counselors will discuss these goals, schedule appropriate testing, and provide test interpretation. The counselor can provide the necessary guidance whether the goal is to obtain a high school equivalency diploma, raise the general technical score for the Armed Forces Classification Test (AFCT), or obtain a post-secondary certificate or degree. The counselor will also assist with account setup and class enrollment procedures. Other counseling services include the mandatory ETS / retirement counseling, group briefings at the Education Center, and unit briefings at the unit location.
