Drug Testing Program
Drug Testing is a Commander’s program that assists Commanders and other leaders with deterrence and identification of drug abuse in Soldiers and Department of the Army Civilian employees.
Commanders and Managers at ALL levels are responsible to ensure compliance with relevant unit/organization drug testing.
Army Regulation (AR) 600-85 mandates that every Army unit will ensure random urinalysis testing at the rate of at least 10% of assigned end strength each month. In addition to random urinalysis testing, each Soldier must have a drug test by the end of the fiscal year.
The Fort Knox Army Substance Abuse Program provides 3-day Unit Deterrance Leader (UDL) certification training each month for appointed Soldiers or Department of the Army Civilians to conduct military urinalysis collections with their Soldiers. UDL Recertification training is conducted every other month. Contact the Drug Testing Coordinator, at 502-624-8368, to schedule attendance for the UDL Course.
