In a Life-Threatening Emergency

Dial 112 from any phone to reach the Italian Emergency Services (equivalent to 911). Emergency operators can dispatch an ambulance to your location.

Italian Pharmacies

Italian pharmacies, easily spotted by their bright green cross signs, are an excellent resource for minor illnesses. Pharmacists are highly trained, often speak English, and can recommend over-the-counter medications based on your symptoms. To find a location, use a map app on your phone. If you need medication outside of normal hours, check the front door of any pharmacy; they are legally required to post a list of the nearest Farmacia di Turno (on-call duty pharmacies) open late, on weekends, or during holidays. For TRICARE reimbursement on your medications, contact your local Patient Liaisons for assistance.

Dental Care at Camp Darby

Because there is no dental clinic on Camp Darby, securing and understanding your coverage is essential before seeking care in the local community.

For Dependents & Family Members

Dependents must maintain or enroll in the TRICARE Dental Program (administered by United Concordia) to ensure continuous access to care. Seeking Care & Costs: Contact United Concordia to find a local provider. Please note that family members will pay an up-front cost at the local clinic and must file for reimbursement through United Concordia afterward. Make sure to check the TRICARE Dental Benefit Booklet before scheduling orthodontic work. OCONUS (overseas) ortho benefits typically cover 50%, compared to just 25% CONUS (stateside).

For Active Duty Service Members

Seeking Care & Costs: Active duty members must contact International SOS to be referred to a local dental provider. There is no cost for active duty service members.
