CSM William D. Pouliot

Command Sergeant Major William D. Pouliot was born and raised in California. He enlisted in the Army on 11 January 1995 and completed One Station Unit Training at Fort Benning as an Infantryman. CSM Pouliot has served in every enlisted leadership position from Team Leader through Command Sergeant Major. CSM Pouliot’s previous assignments include 3/502 IN (Fort Campbell, KY), 1/27 IN (Schofield Barracks, HI), 1/75 RGR (Hunter AAF, GA), RSTB, 3/75 RGR, 75th Regimental Headquarters, and USAG (Fort Benning, GA). CSM Pouliot served as the Command Sergeant Major for 3d Ranger Battalion and Fort Benning Garrison. His most recent assignment was as the Sergeant Major, Program Executive Office - Soldier out of Fort Belvoir, VA.

CSM Pouliot completed all levels of the Noncommissioned Officer Education System including credit for the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy (Class 62) through the Joint Special Operations Forces Senior Enlisted Academy (JSOFSEA). He is also a graduate of the USSOCOM Summit Course. His additional schools include Airborne, Ranger, Jumpmaster, Pathfinder, Military Freefall, Air Assault, and Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape (S.E.R.E Level-C). CSM Pouliot holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Military Leadership from Excelsior College and a Master of Science degree in Strategic Leadership from the University of Charleston.

CSM Pouliot’s operational deployments include 4 OIF rotations in Iraq and 9 OEF/OFS rotations in Afghanistan. His awards and decorations include The Legion of Merit (2 OLC), Bronze Star Medal (3 OLC), Meritorious Service Medal (4 OLC), Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal (4 OLC), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal (8 OLC), the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, the Expert Infantryman’s Badge, Ranger Tab, Master Parachutist Badge, Military Freefall Badge, Air Assault Badge, Pathfinder Badge, and is a member of the Order of Saint Maurice.

Command Sergeant Major Pouliot is married they have two children and two grandchildren.
