COL Andrew Q. Jordan
Colonel Andrew Q. Jordan enlisted in 1995 and served in the Oklahoma Army National Guard while attending Oklahoma State University. In 1998, he graduated from OSU as a Top Ten Graduate and received a commission in the Infantry as a Distinguished Military Graduate.
Colonel Jordan’s first assignment was with the 2d Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division. He attended the Infantry Captain’s Career Course and the Special Forces Qualification Course and reported to the 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne). He served as the Detachment Commander of ODA 5316; and Commander, Headquarters Support Company, 3d Battalion 5th SFG (A). Following graduation of the U.S. Air Force Air Command and Staff College he reported to the 1st Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne) where he served as the Battalion Executive Officer and Commanded Bravo Company. He subsequently commanded the 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne) Group Support Company.
Colonel Jordan’s joint assignments include service at Special Operations Command Central. During his tenure at SOCCENT, he served in a variety of Continental United States (CONUS) based positions. He was selected to serve as the Chief of Staff for the Special Operations Joint Task Force-Iraq; deploying to Iraq to establish Special Operations Command (SOCOM)’s task force to counter ISIS.
Colonel Jordan commanded the United States Army Garrison, Fort A.P. Hill, VA, where he enabled the training of more than 70,000 Joint Warfighters annually.
In his most recent operational assignment, he served as the SOCCENT Director of Strategy, Plans and Analysis supporting special operations across the Central Command area of responsibility.
His military education includes the Infantry Officer Basic and Captain's Career Courses, the Special Forces Qualification Course and Ranger School. He is a graduate of the United States Air Force Air Command and Staff College and the United States Army War College. He holds a Masters of Military Operational Art and Science and a Masters of Strategic Studies.
