COL Jeremy D. Bell

Colonel Jeremy Bell was born in New York City and raised in Roxbury, New Jersey. He was commissioned as an Armor officer in 1997 from the United States Military Academy. His initial assignment was at Fort Stewart, Georgia where he served as an Armor and Mortar Platoon Leader in 3rd Battalion, 69th Armor Regiment.

After graduating from the Special Forces Qualification Course in 2003, Colonel Bell served on two separate occasions with 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne) at Fort Carson, Colorado. From 2003 through 2007 Colonel Bell served in 2nd Battalion as a Company Executive Officer (AOB 050), Detachment Commander (SFODA 056), S1, S4, and Assistant S3.  During this period, he deployed in support of Operation IRAQI FEEDOM four times and a single time to Operation JOINT GUARDIAN, Kosovo. From 2010 through 2013 he served as the Group S35; Battalion S3 and Company Commander in 4th Battalion; and finally as the Group S3. He supported operations in and deployed on several occasions to Africa during this period.

Following this assignment, Colonel Bell served on the Joint Staff in the Deputy Directorate for Special Operations and Counterterrorism (DDSO/CT, J37) as an Operations Officer and Executive Assistant.  Colonel Bell commanded 1st Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne) at Fort Campbell, Kentucky from 2015 through 2017 and deployed his battalion in support of Operation INHERENT RESOLVE.  Following battalion command he served as the Executive Officer to the Commanding General, U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School (Special Operations Center of Excellence) at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Colonel Bell has a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Management from the United States Military Academy, a Masters of Arts in Diplomatic and Military Studies from Hawaii Pacific University, and a Masters in Strategic Studies from the Army War College. His awards and decorations include: Bronze Star (2 awards), the Purple Heart, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal (2 awards), the Army Commendation Medal (for valor), the Army Commendation Medal (2 awards), the Joint Service Achievement Medal, the Army Achievement Medal (2 awards), Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, the Ranger Tab, and the Special Forces Tab.
