CSM Veronica E. Knapp, Command Sergeant Major, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault)

Command Sergeant Major Veronica E. Knapp is a native of Wooster, Ohio and enlisted in the United States Army on 28 March 2000 as an Internment and Resettlement Military Police Soldier.  She attended OSUT at Fort Leonard Wood, MO.

Her previous assignments include Fort Leavenworth, KS; Fort Leonard Wood, MO; Fort Bragg, NC; Fort Bliss, TX; and Camp Humphreys, Korea.  She has deployed to Bagram, Afghanistan and served two consecutive tours in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba in support of OEF.

CSM Knapp has served in every leadership position from Team Leader to Command Sergeant Major.  Special duty positions include Senior Drill Sergeant; First Sergeant, 189th Military Police Company, Guantanamo Bay; Facility Sergeant Major, United States Army Regional Correctional Facility-Korea (USARCF-K); 40th Military Police Battalion (Detention) Command Sergeant Major and 16th Military Police Brigade Command Sergeant Major / Director of Emergency Services (DES) Sergeant Major at Fort Bragg, NC. 

Her significant military and civilian education includes: Basic Airborne School, Basic Leaders Course, Military Police Investigations Course, Advanced Leaders Course, Senior Leaders Course, Drill Sergeant School, Modern Army Combatives Level I, Army Basic Instructor Course, Air Assault Course, Air Movement Operations Course, Jumpmaster Course, Master Resilience Trainer, Hostage Negotiation Course, Battle Staff NCO Course, United States Army Sergeants Major Academy (Class 65), BN/BDE Pre Command Course, and Senior Commanders Course.  She earned her national certification as an American Correctional Association (ACA) Certified Corrections Manager (CCM), has an Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts and is a few credits away from her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice with Upper Iowa University.
