160th Organization

The 160th SOAR(Abn) is comprised of a regiment headquarters and four battalions. Located with the regiment is the USASOAC Special Operations Training Battalion. This strategic organizational structure postures the 160th SOAR(Abn) to support the special operations forces (SOF) mission and training well into the future.
1st Battalion is located at Ft. Campbell, KY and is equipped with MH-6 and AH-6 Little Bird light assault and attack helicopters and MH-60 Black Hawk medium assault and attack helicopters.
2nd Battalion is located at Ft. Campbell, KY and is equipped with MH-47 Chinook heavy assault helicopters, MH-60 Black Hawk medium assault helicopters and MQ-1C Gray Eagle unmanned aircraft system.
3rd Battalion is located at Hunter Army Airfield, Savannah, GA and is equipped with MH-47 Chinook heavy assault helicopters and MH-60 Black Hawk medium assault helicopters.
4th Battalion is located at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Tacoma, WA and is equipped with MH-47 Chinook heavy assault helicopters and MH-60 Black Hawk medium assault helicopters.
Special Operations Aviation Training Battalion
The formal school house for the 160th SOAR(Abn) is located at Ft. Campbell, KY. SOATB is the "First Step to Becoming a Night Stalker." All newly assigned personnel attend indoctrination and qualification training courses of instruction.
