Vehicle Registration Services

All privately-owned vehicles (POVs) must both pass inspection and be registered in Germany. The Vehicle Registration Office is separate from the Vehicle Inspection Office. When you first arrive at USAG Bavaria, view this In-Processing Flow Chart.

Vehicles brought from the United States, or purchased locally, must be registered with USAREUR. All shipped vehicles and used vehicles purchased in Germany must pass a safety inspection before they can be registered. Personnel leaving (ETS or PCS) or individuals who have lost logistical support must turn in their plates to vehicle registration (not MP Station) prior to leaving the Bavaria community.

Effective Aug. 8,2023: U.S. Army Garrison Bavaria Vehicle Registration Offices can only issue license plates or process registrations for the customer's actual geographic location dependent on their CMR box, they are unable to issue plates or process registrations from other Bavaria installations.

Upon completing the appointment request, please check your e-mail (including your junk folder) for a notification from “USARMY Bavaria ID-Europe Mailbox Vehicle Registration” to establish whether or not your desired appointment is confirmed. If your desired appointment is unavailable, you will be presented with five alternate available appointment slots. Please book one of those appointment slots separately, it will not be automatically booked for you.
Customers must show Vehicle Registration clerks proof of their appointment via the confirmation email at the time of the appointment. Failure to do so will result in being turned away.
