Colonel Mark Glaspell

Colonel Mark Glaspell received his commission from the United States Army Officer Candidate School in 1999 and began his active-duty career as an Engineer Officer in 2002. He is a graduate of the Engineer Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, Command and General Staff College Officers Course, U.S. Army War College, Airborne School, and Air Assault School.

COL Glaspell commanded 3rd Battalion, 410th Engineer Regiment, 5Th Armored Brigade. Previous assignments include service as a Platoon Leader and Company Executive Officer in the 44th Engineer Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division, Republic of Korea; Company Commander, A Company (Sapper) and HHC, 3rd Special Troops Battalion, 3rd Brigade Combat Team (Rakkasan), 101st Airborne Division; J3 Executive Officer, NATO Joint Force Command, Lisbon, Portugal; G3/5 Engineer Plans Officer, 3rd Infantry Division; S3 and Executive Officer, 10th Brigade Engineer Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division; Capabilities Analysis Branch Chief and Capabilities Integration Branch Chief, United States Army Joint Modernization Command. He has two combat deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, one in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, and three operational deployments in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve.

Colonel Glaspell holds a Master of Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College, Master of Public Policy Administration from the University of Missouri, and a Bachelor’s in Communication from Muskingum University. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal (2 OLC), the Meritorious Service Medal (3 OLC), the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the OIF and OEF Campaign Medals, the NATO medal, the Parachutist Badge, the Air Assault Badge, and the Combat Action Badge. He is a life member of the 101st Airborne Division Association, 187th Infantry (Rakkasan) Association, and the Army Engineer Association.
