Colonel Chad M. Ramskugler
COL Ramskugler commissioned from West Point in 1998 as an Engineer. He served in 1st Cavalry Division at Ft Cavazos, TX as platoon leader and company XO in the 20th Engineer Battalion and the Assistant Brigade Engineer for 8th Engineer Battalion. He served in the 1st Infantry Division from 2002-08 at Schweinfurt, Germany as the 9th Engineer Battalion Maintenance Officer, Assistant Brigade Engineer, and as a Company Commander, deploying to Tikrit for Operation Iraqi Freedom.
He served in the National Training Center Operations Group at Fort Irwin from 2008-10 as an Engineer-Company trainer, BSTB-staff trainer, and division planner. He then served with the 2nd Brigade Combat Team (325 Airborne Infantry Regiment), 82nd Airborne Division, Ft Liberty deploying to Iraq for Operation New Dawn as the Brigade Engineer, and then 2BSTB XO until 2013. From 2013-2017 he served with the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency in Springfield, VA in multiple roles, deployed to Afghanistan in 2015 for Operation Resolute Support as a strategic planner, and served as XO to the NGA Director of Operations.
He commanded the 11th Engineer Battalion at Camp Humphreys, Korea 2017-2019 under 130th Engineer Brigade supporting 2nd Infantry Division, served as the Professor of Military Science at the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh 2019-2020, and attended the Army War College 2020-21. He and his family returned to Korea in June 2021 to serve as the 8th Army Engineer. He last served as the Director of the TRADOC Proponent Office – Geospatial, and currently serves as the Assistant Commandant of the US Army Engineer School at Ft Leonard Wood, MO.
COL Ramskugler has trained in numerous Engineer and Army skills including Geospatial Engineering and Project Management, has earned several awards, and has earned a Masters in Organizational Leadership from Norwich University, VT and a Masters in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College, PA.
