CSM Darryl E. Harley Jr. is from Raleigh, N.C. He enlisted in the Army in 1999, and attended One Station Unit Training at Fort Sill, OK to become a Field Artillery Cannon Crewmember. Nov 2001, he attended Advanced Individual Training at 82nd Chemical BN, FLW, MO to become a Chemical Operations Specialist

His duty positions include Cannon Crewmember, CBRN NCO, Smoke Squad Leader, Platoon Sergeant, Observer/Controller and Trainer, Chemical Reaction Team Sergeant, First Sergeant, Bn Command Sergeant Major, and CBRNE and Protections SGM.
 
CSM Harley’s military education includes all levels of Non-Commissioned Officer PME. To include Sergeants Major Academy Class 73; Master Resiliency Trainer Course; Equal Opportunity Leaders Course; CBRN Tactical Exploitation & Response Team Course; Combatives Level I and II; Airborne School; Jumpmaster Course; Battle Staff NCO Course; Air Assault School; Observer Controller and Trainer Course; CBRN Dismounted Recon Course; Technical Escort Course; and Common Faculty Development-Instructor Course. His civilian education includes a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration/Biology and a Master of Science Degree in Management from Columbia College.
