Visitor Access
To receive a Visitor Access pass, please submit an online pass application or come in person to the Visitor Control Center. Online passes minimize any wait times at the VCC. Wait times at the VCC are dependent on how many customers are present. On average, passes are issued in under 10 minutes. All visitors requesting unescorted access to the installation must be 18 years of age or older, provide a need for access, and provide an approved identification. The primary identification used is a Real ID Act-compliant state driver's license/identification or Enhanced Driver's License. A secondary ID may be required. Please click on the Real ID Act, which explains if a secondary ID is needed. If you do not have a secondary ID, you will not receive a pass for unescorted access. Juveniles and Foreign Nationals cannot gain access without DoD sponsorship.
REAL ID Act licenses/identification cards marked "Limited Term" or "Temporary Visitor" are issued to individuals who are in a 'temporary' lawful status as defined in the Real ID law. These visitors must also provide documentation showing their lawful status (i.e. l-94, work visa, Refugee Travel Document (l-571) etc.). These visitors will be required to have a DoD Sponsor with a completed Fort Riley Form 103.
Fort Riley Online Pass Application
Visitors requiring a pass for access to Fort Riley can now apply for passes online. The online pass application is available at: https://pass.aie.army.mil. The online pass process can only be utilized by personnel who are US citizens, have a valid state issued REAL ID-compliant driver's license or Identification card, and have a mobile phone.
After vetting, visitors will be sent a text informing them if their visit has been approved or denied. Approved visitors with a REAL ID-compliant driver's license or identification card may proceed to any of Fort Riley’s access control points to be scanned for access. Passes will NOT be sent via email to the visitor.
Passes may be requested no more than 30 days in advance and are only valid for the purpose of the visit (not to exceed a maximum of 7 days). Online pass applications are only processed during Visitor Control Center operating hours. It is recommended that visitors submit pass applications 24 hours in advance of their planned visit.
Unofficial Foreign Visitor Access Request
Effective May 1, 2024, sponsors requiring access for Unofficial Foreign Visitors will be required to follow updated procedures. All Unofficial Foreign National Visitors are required to be sponsored by an adult authorized DoD ID Cardholder for access and are not authorized unescorted access to Fort Riley. Official Foreign Visitors are those on military orders who present approved credentials. The DoD sponsor will be required to complete a FR Form 103, Request for Foreign National Installation Access Pass and submit the completed form via email to usarmy.riley.id-readiness.mbx.visitor-control-center@army.mil or in person to the VCC, building 885 Henry Drive. This multi-agency vetting process can take up to five business days to complete, so please plan your visits accordingly. Upon approval, the sponsor will be contacted by the VCC staff with instructions on how to proceed to obtain the pass for their guest's visit. Pass duration and approval will be dependent upon successful vetting, Visa duration and country of origin. Visit approval duration could be a period of 3 to 90 days dependent. Questions regarding this process can be directed to the Visitor Control Center at 785-239-2982.
