Command Sergeant Major Robert L. Rish

Command Sergeant Major Robert L. Rish entered the United States Army in July 1994 at Fort Knox, KY where he attend One Station Unit Training graduating as a 19D Cavalry Scout.  Upon completion of training, he was assigned to D Company, 1st Squadron, 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Polk, LA.

CSM Rish has served in every leadership positions throughout his career from Team Leader, Section Sergeant, Platoon Sergeant, Squadron and Brigade Assistant Operations Sergeant, First Sergeant, Battalion and Squadron Operations Sergeant Major and Squadron Command Sergeant Major.

CSM Rish's military education includes the Primary Leadership Development Course, Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course, Advance Noncommissioned Officer Course, the First Sergeant Course and the Non-Resident USASMA Class 44B. CSM Rish has also completed Drill Sergeant School, Airborne School, Jump Master School and Air Assault School.

His CONUS assignments include Fort Polk LA, Fort Stewart GA, Fort Knox KY, Fort Benning GA, Fort Bragg NC and Fort Campbell, KY.

His deployment assignments include Haiti, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kuwait and Iraq.

His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal (1 oak leaf cluster), Meritorious Service Medal (silver oak leaf cluster), Army Commendation Medal (“V” and silver oak leaf cluster), Army Achievement Medal (silver oak leaf cluster), Army Good Conduct Medal (9th award), National Defense Service Medal (w/bronze star), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal (w/silver star), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal (w/bronze star), Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 5), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (Numeral 4), United Nations Medal, and NATO Medal. He has earned the Senior Rated Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, Drill Sergeant Badge, German Parachutist Badge and Combat Action Badge. He also has been Dragooned into the 2nd ACR Regiment, is a Distinguished Member of the 73rd Cavarly Regiment and a Memeber of the Order of Saint George (Bronze Medallion) as well as the Order of Saint Maurice (Centurion).

He is married to the former Bridgette Maricle of Pitkin, LA and they have three daughters Kaitlynn, Victoria and Maddie and one son Stephen.
