Command Sergeant Major Paul M. Lopez

CSM Paul M. Lopez was born in Flagstaff, Arizona and raised in Coronado California. He enlisted in the United States Army in April 2002 as a Health Care Specialist, completing Basic Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. 
CSM Lopez has served in several positions including Training NCO; Evacuation NCO; Senior Medic; Medical Clinic NCOIC; WMD Team Medic; Senior Instructor/Writer; Operations NCO; Company First Sergeant; and Operations Sergeant Major. CSM Lopez’s overseas assignments include Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, Charlie Company 325th Forward Support Battalion from 2003-2006; Conn Barracks, Schweinfurt Germany, HHC and Alpha Company, 1-77 Armor from 2006-2008; Operation Enduring Freedom; Operation Iraqi Freedom; Operation New Dawn, and HHD 168 MMB, Camp Walker, Republic of Korea. His stateside assignments include Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Combat Applications Group from 2008-2015; 1st Special Forces Command, Office of Special Warfare Non-Standard Medical Detachment from 2015-2016; HHBn, 82nd Airborne Division from 2016-2017; Charlie Company, 82nd Brigade Support Battalion from 2017-2019; and JBLM, WA, Madigan Army Medical Center, from 2020-2022. 
 
CSM Lopez’s military education includes Air Assault School; Primary Leadership Development Course; Advanced Leaders Course; Senior Leaders Course; US Army Sergeants Major Academy; Enlisted Combat Skills Course; Medical Management of Chemical and Biological Casualties Course; SERE School; Airborne School; Jumpmaster School; Practice Manager Course, and the Joint Medical Executive Skills Course. Other professional achievements include membership in the Order of Military Medical Merit (O2M3).
 
CSM Lopez’s awards and decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal; the Meritorious Service Medal with 1 oak leaf cluster; the Joint Service Commendation Medal; the Army Commendation Medal with 3 oak leaf clusters; the Army Achievement Medal; the Valorous Unit Award; the National Unit Citation; the Army Good Conduct Award, 7th Award; the National Defense Service Medal; the Afghanistan Campaign Medal; the Iraqi Campaign medal with 3 Service Stars; the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; the NCO Professional Development Medal with numeral 5; the Army Service Ribbon; and the Overseas Ribbon with numeral 4.
 
CSM Lopez is married to Nathalie Lopez, and together they have one son, Layne.
