M. R. De Pirro
USAG Poland Deputy to the Garrison Commander
Mr. Matt De Pirro hails from Indiana and serves as Deputy to the Garrison Commander of US Army Garrison- Poland. In this role, he is responsible for assisting the Garrison Commander in executing the Garrison’s mission of Base Operations Support integration at twelve installations throughout Poland.
A veteran of Operation Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom, Mr. De Pirro retired from the US Army after a twenty-five year career as an Armor and Cavalry Officer. During his military career Mr. De Pirro commanded at every level through Battalion.
During the later part of his career, he served in leadership positions within the NATO Force Structure in Spain and Iraq as well as within the NATO Command Structure in Poland. Following retirement, Mr. De Pirro served for 2 years as a NATO International Civilian as the Programs Manager for the NATO Joint Force Training Center in Bydgoszcz, Poland. He then returned to the US Army as a civilian in 2016 and has served in various leadership roles within Installation Management Command as a Director of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security, a Director of Human Resources, Region G33 and as a Deputy to the Garrison Commander.
Prior to being assigned to his current position, Mr. De Pirro served as the Installation Management Command- Europe Liaison Officer in Poland and provided subject matter expertise to the leadership of the newly formed Garrison.
