Mission Statement:

To protect the lives and property of the community and emergency personnel through timely fire response and suppression, emergency medical services, fire code enforcement, and public fire safety education.

Vision Statement:

To provide the best possible service to our customers and to have the best trained and equipped firefighters, and to be recognized as the Best Small Fire Department in the Army.

About Us:

In times past, fire departments only responded to structure fires however our mission and role has evolved over the years to include responses to medical emergencies, hazardous materials spills, Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Enhanced Conventional Weapons (CBRNE) and Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) emergencies, Aircraft Emergencies, Wildland fires, Technical Rescue emergencies like machinery entrapments and surf rescue, and natural disasters.

The first firefighting organizations in the United States were established in the late 1600s and early 1700s and notable volunteer firefighters included George Washington and Benjamin Franklin. The first recorded organized fire departments in the United States Army date to the late 1800s.

Each year throughout the United States, fires kill thousands of people, injure hundreds of thousands more and destroy billions of dollars in property. Heart attacks, car accidents, hazardous material spills, acts of terrorism, and catastrophes cause other deaths, injury and destruction. USAG Okinawa (Torii Station) Fire & Emergency Services Division provides assistance to our community through emergency responses, public fire education, fire prevention and a host of other support services.
