Command Sgt. Maj. Shade Steven Munday

Command Sgt. Maj. Shade S. Munday is a native of Morristown, South Dakota and he enlisted in the Army in May 1995.
He attended basic training and advanced individual training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.
CSM Munday has served as a Bridge crew-member, Senior boat, Section Leader, Drill Sergeant, Platoon Sergeant, OC/T , 5th AR BDE, DIV West, 1st Army, Fort Bliss, TX, Brigade Senior Engineer, 1AD, Fort Bliss, TX, 1SG 29th Engineer Co, 1-36 Infantry Regiment, 1st AD, Fort Bliss, TX, 1SG Alpha Co, 16th Brigade Engineer Battalion, 1st AD, Fort Bliss, TX, Course Chief Engineer ALC, NCOA Fort Leonard Wood, MO, BN CSM, 299th Brigade Engineer Battalion, 1SBCT, 4ID, Fort Carson, CO, BDE CSM, 36th Engineer Brigade, Fort Hood, TX, 3d Cavalry Regimental CSM and 1st Cavalry Division Command Sergeant Major.  His stateside assignments include Fort Polk Louisiana, Fort Leonard Wood Missouri, Fort Carson Colorado, and Fort Bliss Texas. His overseas assignments include Germany and Korea. He has deployed to Bosnia, Republic of Georgia, Iraq, and Afghanistan for combat and peacekeeping operations.  CSM Munday’s military education includes Basic Leader Course, Advanced Leader Course, Senior Leader Course, United States Sergeants Major Academy (Class 67), Sapper Leader Course, Master Fitness Course, Air Assault, Rappel Master Course, Drill Sergeant School, Observer Controller Academy, 1SG Course, Digital Master Gunner Course, Dismounted CIED, Small Group Instructor Training Course, Initial Faculty Development Course, and Master Resilience Trainer Course.
