1SG Anita C. Rimer, a native of Fontana, California, joined the United States Army on 25 July 2008. She attended Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training (AIT) at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. Upon graduation from AIT, 1SG Rimer was awarded the Military Occupation Specialty of 42A – Human Resources Specialist.

1SG Rimer’s assignments include the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 601st Aviation Support Battalion, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, KS; Headquarters and Headquarters Company, Combat Aviation Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, KS; Headquarters Department of the Army, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff G-3/5/7, Pentagon, Washington, DC; Defense Program Support Activity, Elkridge, MD;  United States Army Field Support Center, Columbia, MD.

1SG Rimer has deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.1SG  Rimer’s military and civilian education includes Basic Leaders Course, Advance Leaders Course, Brigade S1 Operations Course, Equal Opportunity Leaders Course, and Master Leader Course. She has an Associate’s degree in Business Administration awarded from Kaplan University and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Purdue Global University.

1SG Rimer’s awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (1 Oak Leaf Cluster), Army Commendation Medal (1 Oak Leaf Cluster), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal (3rd Oak Leaf Cluster), Meritorious Unit Citation, Army Good Conduct Medal (5th Award), National Defense Service Medal, Iraqi campaign Medal (Campaign Star), Global War on Terror Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 4), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, and the Army Staff Badge.
