Captain Bradley S. Townsend is a native of La Grande, Oregon. He commissioned in the U.S. Army in May 2015 from the University of Idaho ROTC program.

Captain Townsend’s duty positions and assignments include Dismounted Scout Platoon Leader, Troop Executive Officer, and Air Operations Officer in 1st Squadron (ABN), 40th Cavalry Regiment, Fort Richardson, AK; Chief of Operations, Carnivore and Horseman Company Commander at 1st Battalion, 9th Cavalry Regiment; and Squadron Operations Officer at 4th Squadron, 9th Cavalry Regiment, Fort Cavazos, TX.

CPT Townsend’s military education includes the Infantry Basic Officer Leader Course, Airborne School, Jumpmaster School, FRIES/SPIES Master Course, Maneuver Captain’s Career Course, and Bradley Leader’s Course. He holds Bachelors of Science degrees in Finance and Operations Management from the University of Idaho, and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Miami (FL).

CPT Townsend has conducted overseas deployments to Logar and Gazni Provinces, Afghanistan (2017-2018) and EUCOM as a part of NATO expeditionary Forward Presence Battle Group Poland (2023).

CPT Townsend’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal (1 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (1 OLC), Afghanistan Campaign Service Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon (2 OLC), Senior Parachutist Badge, and the Combat Infantryman’s Badge.
