Anticipating Household Goods

At this time, household goods are usually available within 60 days of arrival.
 

Loaner Furniture/Closet

Choose wisely the furniture you bring over, as Housing will outfit the quarters with all of the basic furniture you will need. "Full Tour" furnishings and appliances support are provided. All furniture and appliances normally required for family quarters (to include baby cribs) are available for issue with the exception of TV and components, kitchen items, towels, and computers.

The furniture inventory is comprised of Danish style, modern quartermaster furniture and modern appliances. Washers and dryers are provided. You may be authorized 50% of your JFTR/JTR for household goods shipment based on your rank or grade. Personnel who elect to ship their own furniture may do so. The government furniture will be delivered/removed upon request. The storage spaces are LIMITED for small items such as small boxes, luggage etc.


It's a good idea to bring or mail a small quantity of linens in the event housing is available before you receive your hold-baggage shipment. Early shipment of hold-baggage is highly recommended to avoid any discomfort to you and your family. Linens are also available for purchase at the Camp Zama Exchange.


Items Available from ACS

Army Community Service (ACS) has basic household/baby items available to individuals who are awaiting unaccompanied baggage and household goods shipment arrival during a PCS move or during TDY. Some examples of items available are: pots and pans, irons and ironing boards, rice cookers and much more.

Baby cribs are available by contacting Family Housing.

How to Borrow

Upon your arrival, you can contact ACS (DSN: 263- 4357 or Cell: 046-407-4357 ) - or go in person to Building 402 (next to the Camp Zama Community Club) to check out items in the loan closet. Linens are not available for check-out.
